Hospital de Amor, previously known as Hospital do Câncer de Barretos, is the largest oncology center in Latin America providing 100% free care. The institution’s robust structure includes:

• +2 million appointments delivered in 2025.
• +613 thousand people served.
• Patients from 2711 municipalities, representing 48% of Brazilian cities.
• +50 mobile mammography trailers.

Challenge

Even with an operational deficit of more than R$ 1 million per day, the institution needs to maintain national scale to:

• Deliver high-quality diagnosis to remote municipalities.
• Ensure secure transmission of exams even in locations with unstable internet.
• Reduce costs related to radiology infrastructure.

Solução

A Pixeon client since 2010, Hospital de Amor uses Pixeon Aurora PACS, Pixeon’s award-winning radiology solution that has already been named 4 times the best in Latin America by the North American institute Klas research.

Pixeon Aurora PACS connects +50 mobile mammography trailers, 8 regional units, and a Central de Laudos located in São José do Rio Preto (SP) as follows:

• Exams performed in the trailers are sent to the Central de Laudos;
• There is full traceability of the image workflow;
• Physicians produce reports with greater agility;
• The integrated post-processing in Pixeon Aurora PACS eliminates dependence on external software.
