The Laboratório Central de Saúde Pública de Minas Gerais (LACEN-MG) is part of Fundação Ezequiel Dias (FUNED) and serves all 853 municipalities in Minas Gerais. The network includes more than 20 laboratories dedicated to epidemiological analyses and public health surveillance, supporting 33,000 health units and impacting approximately 21 million residents in the state.
Challenge
Before implementing Pixeon’s solutions, LACEN-MG faced manual errors and spreadsheet-based workflows, which caused rework, information loss, and delays in exam release. In addition,
GAL (Gerenciador de Ambiente Laboratorial)—the official system of Brazil’s Ministry of Health—did not fully cover the laboratory’s analytical process, limiting end-to-end integration and full sample traceability.
Solution
The institution adopted several Pixeon solutions:
